Why choose us?

Mr. Burgin

Oldham County Martial Arts Academy is owned and operated by Aaron J. Burgin.  Mr. Burgin began Shaolin Kempo training at age 12; he excelled in the art so much that he was asked to teach at six different Martial Arts Schools since age 15.  Mr. Burgin has been published in both the Leo magazine and Velocity magazine for his martial arts skills and has earned a International Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Black Belt under Professor Bruce Shepherd and a 4th Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate.  Mr. Burgin chose a Bonsai as his logo, not only because he has loved and cared for one since he was 14, but also because, to him, it represents life, development, and art.

Variety

Mr. Burgin trains across the globe to get various techniques and ideas to teach his students.

Small class size

Yes, we’re a small school and we can still keep rates affordable; but even better we have small class sizes to help everyone with their individual needs and concerns. Want to compete? Great! Don’t want to? Totally fine! We want to help you meet your goals whether it’s getting in shape, growing in skills, learning basic self-defense, or training to compete. There’s no pressure but lots of opportunity to grow whether it’s through our flexible class schedule, our seminars, or tournaments.

Family owned. Local.

Mr. Burgin has his own children that have learned to love martial arts as much as him. The school is known for family-friendly vibes and chill atmosphere.
